This last storm dumped about a foot of snow on us. Everything looks so beautiful, it put us right into the Christmas spirit. Who wouldn’t like to go play in the fresh snow for at least a little while. The snowshoes are ready and we are going to try them out. What a great day for our first snowshoe adventure of the season here in Northern Michigan.

Off to the Christmas Tree Farm
The friendly folks at the Christmas Tree Farm said we could drive our vehicle anywhere on the property. We put it in 4 wheel drive and drove up, down and through the hills, just like two tracking, it was fun but also a little bit scary. No, we did not get stuck, the Jeep did really good in the deep snow.

The snowshoes worked out perfectly
What a great way to walk and maneuver through acres of Christmas trees. One thing though! Don’t do too much turning around, you’ll step on your own snowshoes and fall into the soft, fluffy snow. This is how we made a couple of unexpected snow angels.

The chosen tree was cut and I’m following him while carrying the chain saw, I think it was heavier than that tree!

Check out the snowshoes … really cool! :)

Snowshoeing is a great winter activity, it is easy, fun and great exercise, anyone can do it. No skills are needed and around here, snowshoeing opportunities are everywhere. Take a look at the Honor Motel Winter Special where you can find links to area trails and take advantage of our FREE Snowshoe Rental Offer.

We had fun on our snowshoes choosing the perfect Christmas tree among those endless rows of trees. At only $18, this is the prettiest tree we’ve ever had. The tree is as fresh as it gets and is ready for decorations.
Our next snowshoeing adventure will be the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park trails. I can’t wait, trails are only minutes from here. Read more about snowshoeing and cross country skiing the Sleeping Bear Dunes on the National Parks website.
