Where to find the queens morels !
It's mushroom season and every year the mushroom queen from Indiana comes to harvest her three favorite mushroom producing spots between Honor and Empire. According to her, each patch produces upwards of 50 - 150 morels each and every spring. Folks, the queen can't make it this year, so let me just remind you that the distance between the Village of Honor and Empire is only 11 miles, don't let them go to waste!
Here is what I know!
- Visit this wacky and fun 8th Annual Empire Asparagus Festival being held in downtown Empire this weekend May 20th, and 21st, 2011.
That's not all that's happening...!
- On Memorial Weekend, Honor will honor our nations and native Vets with Honor Days. The new event includes a civil war reenactment, cannon firing demonstration and a community Pig Roast at Maley Park. View the Honor Days promo flyer here!
